Joshua's Hospital Adventure

All righty, where do I start? I took Josh to the doctor on thursday after his painful 'stomach flu' got so bad that he didn't want to move or talk. They sent him straight over for a CT scan and straight from there to be admitted for an appendectomy.
Judging from the CT, they didn't think it had burst yet, but during the surgery they found that it had. So he had to stay in the hospital for 5 days instead of 1. My mom came up the next day (thank you mom!!) so that we could always have someone with him. Manda doesn't take a bottle at all so it was quite a juggling act dealing with her. My mom would call when she was hungry and we'd switch places, or sometimes she'd just bring her to me to eat. Jason stayed with josh a lot too.

The above is what it looked like after they took off the big pile of gauze, the tube on top is the drain.

So here he is in his hospital bed.

Here's a view of his room showing the place Grandma Karen and I took turns sleeping.

We brought the girls to visit Josh pretty much every day.
On Sunday we took him out for a walk in his wheelchair and played in the little fountains.

This is the display outside the gift shop. I took this one at Josh's insistence because he thought it looked so cute.
It was really hard getting him in and out of bed for the first couple days. He felt okay if he was still, but moving hurt a lot, and he preferred to move on his own verrrrry slowwwwly, instead of letting us help him.

On Sunday he improved a lot, and on Monday he was up playing around quite a bit.

His friend Sister Sheppard brought him a transformer. Then he discovered this secret compartment in his table and hid the little key that activates the transformer's vibro saber in there. I told him to look sneaky for the picture.

And this morning he finally got to come home!

He's doing pretty good now, moving a lot and fighting with Missy just like old times.
