We had thanksgiving at my house this year! This is was my first time being the hostess and I was so excited about it. We had Jen's fam, Annette's fam, my parents and Kimi here, so there were 20 of us. We had turkey, red mashed potatoes, sweet sweet sweet potato casserole, broccoli & craisin salad, fruit salad, rolls, olives, cranberry sauce, and pies-- pumpkin, apple, french silk, and banana cream.
I have a lot of fond memories of thankgiving at my grandma's house, so I did whatever I could to make it like that. We had the same big long table in the living room, grandma's famous rolls (I made a practice batch last week so I could get them just right) and my mom made the chocolate pilgrims that we brought to grandma's one year.
Here's the rising rolls

Sweet potatoes, rolls, and turkey #2 in the oven (I ended up with 2 small ones), potatoes on the stove.

Fridge full of pies and broccoli salad

And digging in!

On friday Kimi mentioned that she had to break a board for her next belt test in her college Tae Kwon Do class, so Jason gave her some pointers and let her practice with his re-breakable boards. THEN we all got to watch while she broke her first real board!
We were so proud.

That looks like a fun dinner/party you had at your house! I can't believe how much you stuffed in the oven.
so fun! Looks so yummy!!
What a great Thanksgiving. Ugh, I wished we lived closer to you all!!!
I love sweet potato casserole; I made one and was the only one who ate it (and is still eating the left overs). I take it back, me and Logan eat it. So I'm not the only one.
Awww...It was so nice being at your casa. Thanks for everything!!
Whoa baby about EVERYTHING....I am now kind of jealous of your big thanksgiving, ESPECIALLY the chocolate pilgrims! Aw, tender!
And HOLY Cow Kimi is amazing.
So, did you guys like Wall-E?
Christine, I do not forgive you for not forgiving me for being evil (Eric's blog).
Oh and also, good job on the rolls! I tried to make them a few years ago and they were a roaring failure.
It was all quite loverly! So glad I could be with the fam this year, it had been a while.
We're SO SAD that we missed it! You're so cute to try so hard to make it like Grandma's!!! I love you! :) It was fun to see pics! :)
What a woman! Nice Thanksgiving spread! Preschool at my house on Tuesday? Also, my sister claims to have had an ROUS sighting in Texas- if you want pictures check out her blog- janacherry.blogspot.com. Freaky!
I'm a little jealous of your big Thanksgiving, too! And impressed, too. So organized.
Any chance you could pass on Grandma's roll recipe? I have my mom's recipe and I wonder if it's the same.
