Yay Fall!

I'm pretty proud of myself because even though I've been overly stressed with school this month and feeling like there aren't enough hours in the day, I've still taken time to do some good and fall-ish stuff with the kids.

We made caramel apples for family night a couple weeks ago-- for the first time!

Then the kids had some days off this week for fall break, so on Friday we went to the pumpkin patch and picked pumpkins! Another first for us! I just heard about this place last year, it's in the next town over. (or, more specifically, in the tiny town next to the little town next to ours.)

Mandie insisted on finding a "tiny baby" pumpkin

So THEN, after the pumpkin picking I realized that this was the perfect opportunity to go see the fall leaves in parowan canyon! (which is the canyon next to the little town mentioned above) So we stopped at the little grocery store there and bought everything we needed for a picnic and headed up the mountain. I was hoping to find a good spot just off the road and not too far up where we could eat and enjoy the scenery. And I'm happy to say I found the PERFECT spot.

How pretty is this path??
This is where we ate. It was a gorgeous day, so we used our jackets for sitting on.

The kids thought it was SO FUN to go to the store and pick out everything and then go eat it! They're so easy to please.

Then today, (lovely Sunday, when I don't have to worry about homework-- I can even blog!) I made Dinner in a Pumpkin! It was very pumpkiny. The kids were fascinated with the idea and helped clean out the pumpkin, and my friend Noelle gave me a really good recipe, it tasted so festive!

You are SO fallish! You win the good mother award...you don't have to do any awesome things with your kids now for like a month because you did such great stuff with them this weekend. I just love something about the pictures of your five kids...they look so grown up, and so complete as a sibling set.
And I always have to tell you how I love the way you write...so witty, to my way of thinking. Like your specificity about the tiny town next to the little town next to yours...HA!

That looks so FUN!!! Our fall is pretty cold and rainy here at the moment and the trees aren't quite at their peak.
Those pumpkins were huge! Congratulations on a happy day!

What a FUN day!!! The picnic looks so fun for the kids. I wish we had pictures of going up to Payson Lakes in the fall. We had some great picnics there. Yes, you do win a Great Mom award!

Too cute! Your colors are WAY better than the Texas colors this month. And your kids are so darling - maybe you should try making a ghost cake like we did when we were like 13... I'm pretty sure it came out a gross purply gray color, if I remember right :) I'm terribly impressed by the caramel apples, too... I love those but I can't seem to get them quite right... Happy Fall - looks like you guys are off to a great start!

Dear Rodents

I can see that you take nice photos and add them to your blog for others to see. I started a website called Theme hunt (www.themehunt.ca). P.S. this is not a virus. My name is Annika Gofton and I live in Guelph, Canada. Every week there will be a different theme word. Then you can make a separate entry to your blog: „Themehunt – dogs“ (this weeks theme is dogs). And then you can copy your entrys URL to my site. That is how other people can see what photos did you find and people can comment. I am trying to create a little friendly community of people who take part of theme hunt every week and give/take feedback-comments. Hope you want to join. Check the site for rules and upcoming themes.

With best regards and hopes to see you join,
Annika
