On September 15th, I had just arrived at work and was still in my car when my phone rang. It was my cousin Robyn. She said Silas had just heard the angel Moroni was going up on the temple that morning, and they were wondering if they could camp out up by our house to watch. I said absolutely they could, and I would meet them there! I was very happy that I didn't have anything pressing at work that morning, I just started my car again and went home. The kids were at school, but I texted Nat when I got back so she could try to come and watch too. We grabbed some chairs and trekked up to the edge of the temple property to watch.
There were a lot of people down on the street, but it was just us and some neighbors up in the woods. We were pretty anxious to get there on time, but of course it took a couple of hours before it actually happened. We had fun hanging out in the woods; Natalie was able to come, and she played with Cora and Molly.
It was so cool! I was so grateful I got to see it- I wouldn't have even known it was happening if Robyn wouldn't have called me! I love our temple so much, and as I write this post a year later, we're gearing up for the open house! The kids and I have signed up as volunteers, and we're excited to find out our assignments! Yay temple!
